I have always defended your small team and tried to rationalize my own frustrations, even as I have tried been patient with sometimes months of no response. I still own and run the biggest club on Xbox live with 450+ members and I am constantly helping people with game breaking bugs. Hi console versions are not done! I loved this game but cmon! The most important thing we wanted to let you know is that the team is working on fixing the remaining issues, tightening everything up and there will be more patches soon. These updates will come from Clare who will be checking in with me and the team to get all the updates and important information for you. Even if we don’t have any exciting news, it’s still nice to know we’re here. We’ll be checking in more regularly and I’ll be working with Clare to provide more regular updates. Moving forward, we’re also working on improving our communication. We’ll be doing our best to minimize any logistical delays with console patches due to QA testing, submission times, etc. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have a firmer timeline. We’re working on getting an update out asap but we don’t have an ETA yet. The item pile feature from the PC version is currently missing in the console version but we will be adding this as soon as possible. The version 1.0 release on PC represents that the game is now feature complete on all platforms. We’re prioritizing these based on which issues affect gameplay the most and we have a dedicated team working on fixing these. We have some remaining multiplayer bugs to fix on the console platforms. Rick also mentions that they are in talks with Microsoft and Sony to negotiate a discount program for existing owners of the original console game. With the release of 1.0 on PC today, I wanted to give an update on the console versions: So the old goal of waiting until PC goes gold before releasing console versions has been altered to getting 7 Days to Die out to consoles even before PC goes gold and to continue to finish up both PC and Console versions concurrently. In a shocking announcement, Rick says that not only is the console development even with PC but that if all goes well their goal is to release PC Alpha 22 as the Version 1 release for console. In the first Dev stream for Alpha 21, Rick and Joel showed A21 footage running on a PS5 to highlight the fact that they are developing the new console version concurrently with PC along with partner Titanium Games from Australia. TFP is committed 100% to that goal and it is the reason they purchased the console rights to their game so they could ensure that it would happen once PC development was finished. In a tweet, Rick Huenink made the comment that there will for sure be a port of the finished game for Playstation 5 and the new Xbox Series. But it also included help with easing the way for porting the game to consoles in the future once it was done. The main focus of this consult was to get the most out of the heavy optimization work they were planning starting with A20 until final release of the game. 7 Days to Die PS4 and 7 Days to Die XBox One were in their final form forever.Įarlier this year TFP scheduled a consultation with Unity Developers to get personalized help for using Unity optimally with their game. TFP made the tough decision to not find a new partner to continue updating the existing game. In the aftermath, TFP was able to secure the rights to their intellectual property ensuring that they would be able to port future versions of the game to future consoles. Telltale Games then went bankrupt which caused Iron Galaxy to cease work on the port. The port was completed and the game shipped to consoles and was subsequently updated over time with bug fixes as well as new content from Alpha 15 and a bit from Alpha 16. Telltale Games hired the studio, Iron Galaxy, to code the port and TFP assigned members of their own team to be liaisons with Iron Galaxy for giving support as needed from their end. This port would be based upon the Alpha 14 PC version. The Fun Pimps formed a partnership with publisher, Telltale Games, to bring a port of 7 Days to Die to Playstation 4 and XBox One. If you wish to comment on something you read here, do so in Console General Discussions. This is a locked thread so that only news will be posted here. In another effort to make sure accurate news about the console version of 7 Days to Die is being reported, I am posting the happenings that occur towards console owners being able to play a version of 7 Days to Die that has parity with the PC version.
